Audits
Even though the range of services provided by MRPR Group has expanded‚ audits continue to be an important aspect for our practice. In the course of carrying out an audit‚ we generate information and develop insights that results in improved controls and safeguards. These insights ultimately lead to greater efficiencies‚ and clear‚ concise‚ and understandable financial reporting respected by the financial community. Our professionals combine competence with judgment‚ maturity and creativity – – all prerequisites for audit quality and efficiency.
Our audit process includes examining‚ on a test basis‚ evidence supporting the amounts and disclosures in the financial statements. Our approach is risk-oriented and requires that we formulate a clear understanding of your business‚ evaluate your systems and processes‚ and prepare a detailed report of our results.
Reviews and Compilations
If you have assurance needs that don’t require a full audit‚ we can provide review and compilation services that are less in scope than an audit‚ but still provide financial statements that are the representation of management. Typically‚ we provide these services to smaller‚ closely–held businesses to provide assurance to third parties including banks‚ suppliers and customers. We perform all compilation and review services in accordance with the Statements on Standards for Accounting and Review Services issued by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Review and compilation engagements are substantially less in scope than an audit performed in accordance with generally accepted audit standards. However‚ if you present these financial statements to third parties‚ we will prepare formal reports explaining our responsibility for the financial statements.
We specialize in retirement plan audits as required by ERISA.
MRPR Group has over 20 years of experience performing retirement
plan audits. We are a member of the AICPA’s Employee Benefit Plan
Audit Quality Center. The Center helps ensure that MRPR Group
is held to the highest standards and that our clients are in
compliance with ERISA.
Memberships and Quality Control
We are members of the American Institute of Certified Public Accounts‚ Polaris International‚ and the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants. The quality of our auditing and accounting services is regularly audited as a condition of membership in the AICPA Center for Public Company Audit Firms and Polaris International. One of the membership requirements is a periodic audit of our quality-control policies and procedures every three years. These audits are conducted by specially trained CPAs from other firms. The Firm has always received unqualified opinions on its periodic peer audits. A copy of the
unqualified report for our most recent audit for the year ended September 30‚ 2004 is attached for your reference.
