The Michigan Unemployment Insurance Agency (UIA) is switching from the old computer system known as MiWAM to a new computer system called Michigan Unemployment Insurance aka MiUI. The new MiUI system will launch on December 15, 2025, and will require employers to complete a few action items.
Employers will have to switch from MiWAM to the MiUI system; however a two-system transition period will be provided when both systems are available. This transition period allows employers to gradually switch systems between December 15 and Summer 2026.
Below is an action item summary as well as a time frame for the transition. As always, we at MRPR are keeping up with all updates regarding this change and are available for any questions you may have.

• Update all account information in MiWAM (email, address, owner information)
• Create an account with MiLogin (or review existing account for accuracy)
• Create MiUI login
• Assign access for Third Party Representatives (i.e. MRPR roles as needed)
MiUI will be used for:
• Filing quarterly wage and tax reports
• Registering a new business
